Synopsis Statement

This film is about the mental and emotional states of a man under quarantine. Isolated from his wife and daughter in a different hotel room, a man has a chance to face his true self and examine the loneliness in his marriage. During quarantine, the depression and anxiety caused by the environment and self-struggles are somehow relieved through the “abnormal” communications with the family. The sudden fever that happens to the daughter makes the man feel the power of love and the courage to overcome the crisis of his daily life.

Director's Statement

After studying Philosophy in Sichuan University, Chen Shuo majored in Assitant Réalisateur at the Conservatoire Libre du Cinéma Français. Ever since he returned to China in 2008, he has been working in the film industry. He participated in several projects including a feature film WINTER CICADAS, a documentary series A BITE OF CHINA 2, and a commercial A TASTY JOURNEY. In order to enrich his understanding of cinema and film production, he joined two different workshops: One led by the editor, Mary Stephen, and the other lead by the screenwriter, Krzysztof Piesiewicz.

Wu Tang studied Film at Warwick University. She lived a mundane life for many years in the UK. She decided that if life is to be wasted then it should be wasted on making films, therefore she is now a director.

THE MUSEUM IN MARCH is an stop motion animation made by a family of three during quarentine. All of the properties and characters are made with toys by the daughter. The father was in charge of screenwriting, post-production and sound, while the mother was in charge of cinematography and grip. The production took three weeks, using family-owned digital camera, and the lighting support in slow-mostion was supportd by flashlights and bath heaters.

Wu Jinming is the Art Editor in Cheif at the China Financial Publishing House. His short film THE LOST ERASER was awarded the 4th China Micro Film Festival as well as 21 other awards.

Director's Statement

Zhang Chi graduated from University of Nottingham in Ningbo, China with a major in International Communication. In 2014, he founded the Indifferent Movie Workshop and started his career in making feature films. In 2016, his medium-length film White Fog Mystery Shore (65“) entered the Main Competition Unit of the 10th FIRST International Film Festival. Last year, his first feature film Ocean Animal (112”) entered the Main Competition Unit of the 41st Moscow International Film Festival, winning the Special Prize of the Jury. This film has also been nominated for best photography in the First Feature Unit of Camerimage International Photographers Film Festival. Currently, his feature film Memory Cage is in post-production phase.

Similar as many of the youngsters in town, Beast Chan and Old Six swing around with nothing but fantasies in their heads. Beast Chan rehearses for the whole night with her band, but nobody knows when the show would take place. Though Old Six is not used to the occasion, he comes to see her rehearse at last. Wandering around after the rehearsal, they spend the night together as so many nights before.
