Sylvia Chang

Sylvia Chang started her acting career in the 1970s in Taiwan and Hong Kong. In over 40 years of her career, she has starred more than 100 films. She earned her first Taiwan Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actress with PROSPERITY AND PERPLEXITY (1976). Following this honor was Golden Horse Award for the Best Leading Actress with MY GRANDFATHER (1981). Since then, she received many nominations and awards in different film festivals and her acting performance has been highly acclaimed. Sylvia is also an influential scriptwriter and film director. Since 1981, she has directed 13 films not only popular in Hong Kong and Taiwan but also recognized internationally. Her films were invited to different international film festivals, including the Berlin International Film Festival, London Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, and Busan International Film Festival. Her latest directed film is HERO in 2021. Devoted to nurturing the new generation, Sylvia has established the Gosh Foundation in 1988. The foundation aims to encourage and lead young artists to develop in the creative industry. In 2010-2013, she was the vice-chairperson of the board of directors of the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society. From 2011-2014, she was the president of the Taipei Film Festival. In 2014-2018, she was the chairperson of the executive committee of the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival. She is currently a member of the Fund Vetting Committee under the Hong Kong Film Development Council. In recognition of her contribution to the art industry, she received an Award for Outstanding Contribution in Arts from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council in 2018.

Chen Jianbin

Actor and director. He graduated from the Central Academy of Drama. He is best known for QIAO’S GRAND COURTYARD (2006), THREE KINGDOMS (2010), EMPRESSES IN THE PALACE (2011), and TRIDENT (2020). In 2014, Chen won Best Actor and Best New Director Awards at the 51st Golden Horse Film Festival and Best Directorial Debut at 30th Golden Rooster Film Festival for his directorial debut, A FOOL. His work PARADISE IN SERVICE (2014) earned him Best Supporting Actor from Golden Horse Award in the same year. Chen’s second directing film, THE ELEVENTH CHAPTER (2019), had its world premiere at the 33rd China Golden Rooster Film Festival and won Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress at the 9th Beijing International Film Festival.

Dong Jinsong

Cinematographer. He has worked as a cinematographer on THE WILD GOOSE LAKE (2019), BLACK COAL THIN ICE (2014), LADY IN THE PORTRAIT (2017), SEEK MC CARTNEY (2018), PEOPLE MOUNTAIN PEOPLE SEA (2011), and 11 FLOWERS (2011), etc. His films were selected for the Cannes Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival, Pusan International Film Festival, Venice International Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam, and San Sebastian International Film Festival, etc. He won Best Cinematography at the 55th Golden Horse Awards for the film LONG DAY’S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT (2018).

Fu Kang

Fu Kang is a member of the China Film Association as well as the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE). He was a supervising sound editor for over thirty films including THE EIGHT HUNDRED (2020), SO LONG, MY SON (2019), SATURDAY FICTION (2019), DYING TO SURVIVE (2018), THE SHADOW PLAY (2018), BLIND MASSAGE (2014), RED AMNESIA (2014), THE CONTINENT (2014), and SPRING FEVER (2009), etc. Among these films, many were selected at the main competitions of Cannes Film Festival, Venice International Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festivals official. He was nominated for Best Sound Effect four times at Golden Horse Awards and won the 51st Golden Horse Awards for BLIND MASSAGE. EIGHT HUNDRED won him an award for Best Sound Editing (Foreign Language) of Feature Film at the 68th Golden Reel Awards.

Wu Wenguang

Wu was born in China’s Yunnan province in 1956. Between 1978 and 1982, he studied Chinese Literature at Yunnan University. After the university, Wu worked as a teacher at a junior high school for three years, and later, he worked in the television as a journalist for four years. Wu left the television and moved to Beijing in 1988 to be an independent documentary filmmaker and freelance writer. Wu has completed documentaries including BUMMING IN BEIJING (1990), 1966, MY TIME IN RED GUARDS (1993), JIANG HU: LIFE ON THE ROAD (1999), FUCK CINEMA (2005), INVESTIGATING MY FATHER (2016), AUTOBIOGRAPHY: PASS THROUGH (2017), AUTOBIOGRAPHY: STRUGGLE (2018), AUTOBIOGRAPHY: FEAR (2019), RIDING THROUGH (2020). In 2005, Wu found the Village Documentary Project, and in 2010, he found the Folk Memory Project.

Zhou Yun

Actress and producer. Born in 1978 in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, Zhou Yun made her film debut in 2003 in WARRIORS OF HEAVEN AND EARTH and starred in PEACH BLOSSOM in 2005. The film she starred in, THE SUN ALSO RISES, was selected for the main competition at the 64th Venice International Film Festival. She also acted in the film BODYGUARDS AND ASSASSINS (2009), which won Best Film at the 29th Hong Kong Film Awards. In 2010, Zhou Yun starred in LET THE BULLETS FLY (2010), which is the first in China’s domestic box office of the year. In the film GONE WITH THE BULLETS (2014), which was selected for the main competition at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival, she worked as the casting director and played the leading role. In 2016, Zhou Yun was awarded Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film THE ASSASSIN (2015) at the 10th Asian Film Awards. She was also the executive producer for her starred film HIDDEN MAN in 2018.
