Synopsis
Li Wei, a middle-aged man living in a small town, meets Miaomiao after she walked into the wrong room during a dinner party. Miaomiao is an online friend that he has never met in over 10 years of knowing her. Originally, Li Wei just wanted to have a meal to celebrate their friendship, but Miaomiao invited her blind date to eat at the same dinner table. After this, Li Wei becomes immersed in an emotional entanglement.
Nan Xin
Nanxin was born in a small city Lingbao in Henan Province. He is a self-taught independent filmmaker with a junior school degree. Started from making wedding video, he directed his debut feature film GO FISHING in 2021 after a several short films , with his script and leading performance. His film works focus on the daily life of ordinary people in the small cities of China, reveiling the subtlety and awkwardness in the interpersonal relationship.
Director's statement
Upon reaching middle age, people living in small towns have their will to struggle gradually worn down by their families. It is difficult to tell what hormones are in play for the giant babies of the post-90s generation after they get married, so I want to convey this emotion through film.
