Duan Yihong

Born in Yili, Xinjiang in 1973, is a Chinese actor who graduated from Department of Performance of the Central Academy of Drama.

In 1998, Duan joined National Theater of China, and in 1999, he appeared in his debut TV drama, Our Latest Work. He won the Best Actor Award in International Film Festival of India(IFFI) for his performance in the film, Er Di, in 2003. In 2006, he played the role of Yuan Lang in the hit TV drama, Soldiers Sortie, and in 2009, he starred as Long Wenzhang in another TV drama, My Chief and My Regiment.

Duan received the 13th China Film Society Of Performing Art Award for the film, Wind Blast, in 2011, and the Best Actor Award in the 18th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) for the film, The Dead End, in 2013.

In 2017, Duan won the Best Actor Award in the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) for his excellent performance in the film, The Looming Storm, which makes him an actor with two accolades of Competitive Feature Film Festivals accredited by International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).

Duan was also a jury member of the 8th Beijing International Film Festival (BIFF) in April, 2018, and in 2019, Duan won the Best Performance Award in the 12th CinemAsia Film Festival.

Chang Chen

Chang Chen, an international renowned actor, first earned his attention at the age of 14 when he took the lead role in “A Brighter Summer Day”. Since then, his performance was often nominated for best actor and his work often shortlisted to compete at many different international film festivals including the Berlinale and the Cannes Film Festival. Chang won best actor at the 3rd Osaka Asia Film Festival in “The Go Master” and “Soul” at the 58th Golden Horse Awards.

In 2018, Chang served as the only Asian member jury at the 71st Cannes Film Festival. Chang made his Hollywood performance debut in 2021 in Dune – epic science fiction film directed by internationally renowned and academy award winner director Denis Villeneuve, the film had its world premiere at the 78th Venice Film Festival.

Chang’s outstanding versatile performance, coupled with his diligent learning attitude, made him the favorite cast of world’s renowned directors. His film credits include Wong Kar-Wai’s Happy Together (1997), 2046 (2004), The Grandmaster (2013), Ang Lee’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000), Hou Hsiao-Hsien’s Three Times (2005) , Assassin (2015), John Woo’s Red Cliff (2008-2009), and Lu Yang’s Brotherhood of Blade (2014).

Philip Tinari

Since coming to UCCA in 2011, Philip Tinari has led its transformation from a founder-owned private museum into an accredited museum across multiple locations, a public foundation, and a family of art-driven enterprises. During his tenure, UCCA has mounted more than seventy exhibitions and thousands of public programs, bringing artistic voices established and emerging, Chinese and international, to an audience of over a million visitors each year. From 2009 to 2012 he founded and edited LEAP, the first internationally distributed, bilingual magazine of contemporary art in China. He is a contributing editor of Artforum, and launched the magazine’s Chinese edition in 2008. Having written extensively on contemporary art in China, he was co-curator of the 2017 exhibition Art and China after 1989: Theater of the World at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. Based in Beijing since 2001 and fluent in Mandarin, Tinari is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader and a fellow of the Public Intellectuals Program of the National Committee on US-China Relations. He holds degrees from Duke and Harvard.
