Director's statement
There is a group of people who have lived through an era of impoverishment in China and an era of prosperity in which living standards have greatly improved. They all grow old now. They do not only need their children to worry, but they also undertake or subsidize their children’s mortgages, babysit, and educate the third generation of the family, to allow their children to work hard in the society without any worries… Is it still too late to pursue the dream they had to give up because of the times? Should we continue to live a seemingly happy old age? Some people say that China has entered an aging society and think that the elderly is a burden to society, but they are still the backbone and strength of this society and have their own spiritual world.
