Director's statement
During an era of gender inequality, a group of girls refused to succumb to their fate. They ventured to the desolate Qaidam Basin in search of oil on the land of the “poor oil country”. These brave girls sacrificed their lives in the oil fields that now supply natural gas to millions of households. They fought against nature and destiny until their last breath, proving that women can achieve what men can. As a woman myself, I hope to forever commemorate them through this film. I also hope to raise awareness in society that women, regardless of nationality or ethnicity, make indelible contributions to the progress of the entire society.
