Joan Chen

Director, Scriptwriter, Actress. Joan Chen began her film career at the age of 14. Her performance in LITTLE FLOWER won her Best Actress Award at Hundred Flowers Awards. Chen moved to the U.S. in 1981 and has since appeared in over eighty films and television shows, including Bertolucci’s THE LAST EMPEROR, David Lynch’s TWIN PEAKS, Oliver Stone’s HEAVEN AND EARTH, Ang Lee’s LUST, CAUTION, Jiang Wen’s THE SUN ALSO RISES, SHEEP WITHOUT A SHEPARD, HACHIKO, HBO’s SERANGOON ROAD, and Netflix’s MARCO POLO. Her memorable performances won her numerous honors, among which Best Actress Awards in the Golden Horse Awards for RED ROSE, WHITE ROSE and THE HOME SONG STORIES. Chen’s directorial works include XIU XIU: THE SENT-DOWN GIRL, AUTUMN IN NEW YORK, ENGLISH and HER. Chen has served as a Juror at a number of International Film Festivals around the world, such as Berlin, Venice, Shanghai, San Sebastian, Hawaii, Antalya, St. Petersburg, and Pingyao. She was the President of the Jury at Golden Horse Awards in 2014.

Du Jie

Cinematographer. In 2004, Du Jie served as the director of cinematography for Ning Hao’s film MONGOLIAN PING PONG which earned him the Best Director of Photography at the Valladolid International Film Festival. In 2006, he worked as the director of cinematography for CRAZY STONE, and in 2013, he took on the same role for NO MAN’S LAND, receiving nominations for Best Director of Photography at the Golden Horse Awards and the Hamilton Behind The Camera Awards. He has been involved in the successful commercial films THE WANDERING EARTH and the DETECTIVE CHINATOWN series, as well as art-house films such as THE WASTED TIMES, KORA and THE SILENT HOLY STONES. Among these, his work in THE WASTED TIMES received nominations for Best Director of Photography at the Asian Film Award, Golden Rooster Awards, and Hamilton Behind The Camera Awards.

Shen Yang

Executive Producer, producer, curator. As the role of executive producer, all her works have successfully entered A-list international film festivals, many of which are works from emerging directors. Her works include: Diao Yinan’s THE WILD GOOSE LAKE, which was selected by the Main Competition of the 72nd Cannes Film Festival; Diao Yinan’s BLACK COAL, THIN ICE, which won the Golden Bear and the Silver Bear of Best Actor at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival; Bi Gan’s LONG DAY’S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT which was selected in Un Certain Regard at the 71st Cannes Film Festival; Zhang Ming’s THE PLUTO MOMENT which was selected by Cannes in the Directors’ Fortnight section; Bi Gan’s KAILI BLUES, which won the Montgolfière d’Or Award in the 37th Festival des 3 Continents, the Best Emerging Director Award in the 68th Festival del film Locarno Concorso Cineasti del presente Competition, and
the Best New Director Award in the 52nd Golden Horse Awards, etc; Li Xiaofeng’s debut NEZHA, ZHANG Bingjian’s debut NORTH BY NORTHEST were selected in A-list international film festivals. Other films that Shen Yang perfomed as artistic consultant such as Zhang Ji’s debut FIRE ON THE PLAIN was selected in San Sebastian International Film Festival, WU Lang’s ABSENCE was selected in Berlin International Film Festival.

Tao Jing

Sound recorder, sound supervisor and director. Tao Jing is a professor at the Communication University of China and PhD supervisor. His representative works include FAREWELL MY CONCUBINE, LIFETIMES, HERO, HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS, UNDER THE HAWTHORN TREE, THE FLOWERS OF WAR, COMING HOME, ONE SECOND etc. He was the sound designer for both Opening and Closing Ceremony in 29th Summer Olympics in 2008, Beijing. He has won top Chinese film sound awards, Golden Rooster Awards for four times, won the Golden Reel Award twice in the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) in America. He also won Grand Technique Prize of Cannes International Film Festival, Best Sound for ASSG Award in Australian and Hong Kong Film Award. He serves as the Honorary President of the Sound Committee of the Chinese Film Association and the member of CAS and MPSE.

Yao Chen

Actress, producer, the founder of Bad Rabbit. She starred in several films including CAUGHT IN THE WEB, JOURNEY TO THE WEST: THE DEMONS STRIKE BACK, LOST, FOUND and SEND ME TO THE CLOUDS. She has collaborated with young directors as executive producer on films such as SEND ME TO THE CLOUDS, FLAMING CLOUD, THE CORD OF LIFE. Her performances have earned her numerous international awards including Best Actress at the 24th Busan International Film Festival Asia Contents Awards, Best Actress at the 1st Hainan Island International Film Festival, Golden Mulberry Award for Outstanding Achievement at the Far East Film Festival and Cinema Icon Award at Singapore International Film Festival. She took part in the jury of Taipei International Film Festival, FIRST International Film Festival, Golden Rooster Films Project Market, Beijing International Film Festival Project Pitches and many other film and TV festivals.

Zou Jingzhi

Writer, scriptwriter, poet, the former Vice Chairman of the Beijing Writer’s Association. Zou Jingzhi was born in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province and growing up in Beijing. In the 1980s, his poetry and prose had a widespread influence, and his works were translated into various languages, including English, French, Italian, and Spanish. In the 1990s, he created the screenplay for over ten television series such as THE SECRET HISTORY OF EMPEROR KANGXI’S PRIVATE VISITS, THE BRONZE TEETH JI XIAOLAN and FRAGRANT MAY FLOWERS. He also contributed to more than twenty films, including RIDING ALONE FOR THOUSANDS OF MILES, COMING HOME, THE GRANDMASTER, XUAN ZANG, ONE SECOND, ENTER THE FORBIDDEN CITY. In the early 21st century, he turned his attention to stage play creation. He collaborated with the Beijing People’s Art Theatre on plays such as I LOVE PEACH BLOSSOM and LOTUS, and worked with the Longma Entertainment on productions like HUA SHI RU QI and DUAN JIN. He also collaborated with the National Centre for the Performing Arts on operas such as XI SHI, THE ORPHAN OF ZHAO FAMILY and THE LONG MARCH.
