With the increasing variety of viewing methods and the gradual shift in audience preferences, present market demand has led to the development of new forms of content, resulting in unprecedented changes and challenges to the film distribution model. From licenses granted to overseas partners for overseas markets, to traditional theatrical distribution, to even releasing it in an online space, young filmmakers need to investigate, select, and establish distribution strategies that are in line with the current industry context in addition to their creative work, just so that their works can finally reach their audiences.
In order to provide a more focused analysis and interpretation of the domestic and international film distribution market, industry leaders with extensive experience in online streaming platforms, art-house theater chains, and overseas distribution and promotion are invited to participate in the Distribution Workshop, which is a significant FIRST MART event. This analysis and interpretation will take into account the social frame of reference and industry history of the current era. The course will give young filmmakers a broad spectrum of film distribution experience for their future works by describing the actual cases of film distribution in the domestic and international film market.
