Synopsis
Wei Zhou and his girlfriend Li Yang live in a small rental room. Later, Wei Zhou’s father falls ill, and Wei Zhou has to take care of him in person. In order to look after his father, Wei Zhou quits his poorly paid job and stays at home full-time. Human nature is challenged in a troubled position in this space, making the relationship between Wei Zhou and Li Yang difficult to go on.

Director's statement
The film is set in a tiny room, turning the camera into a trapped observer with no way out. And the camera’s view is, in fact, the eye of the audience. The only place for the audience to escape is the balcony outside. The balcony is also an important space of intimacy and separation between the three protagonists. The geometric frames within the space, such as doors, windows, furniture, and walls, constantly trap people inside. Seemingly they are breaking away from one of them while they are unaware of the others. In terms of performance, it is expected to gradually transition from the realistic to the surreal, giving the feeling that such a dilemma is imposed on the audience themselves during the film viewing experience. To achieve this purpose, the picture and the sound will create intense conflict in the transition between the real and the surreal.
