    Synopsis

    Han Ye’s natural color weakness cannot hide his talent for painting. The unexpected pregnancy of Wu Ji causes her to fall into entanglements with her lover Chen Kai. The misfortune makes the communication between mother and son more difficult. A girl named Bai Bing also breaks into his life. Bai Bing seems to hide secrets behind her. Han Ye is frustrated and accidentally dialed “Affection Hotline”. Operator “No. 23” leads him to the pleasure of being a man for the first time. What surprises him is that his vision seems to recover briefly. Wu Ji has no alternative but to choose a “paging station” job. The location of this job is in a secret underground air-raid shelter. Han Ye and his mother’s relationship is temporarily eased. They commute between the Intricate secret shelter. Will the mother and son discover each other’s secrets in the underground space? The secret seems to unfold……

    Xia Hao

    I graduated from the Xi'an Film Studio. I have worked with Quanan Wang, Derek Tung-Shing Yee, Woo Ping Yuen, Wong Kar-wai, etc, as an assistant director. And to participate in the production of many films and television works, such as "White Deer Plain", " The Great Magician", "Su beggar", and "The GrandMaster". The painting experience of my young age helps me improve art aesthetics and make my work style more unique.

    Director's statement

    The “Hidden Parts” is a semi-autobiographical story about the growth of teenagers from the author’s own experience. It is a story reflecting on the family relationship between my mother and me in 2008, and news inspired me to create it. A single mother with a stable income was arrested in the case of the erotic hotline. The author combined his feelings with news to make the current story.
