Director's statement
Northeast of China, the eldest son of the Republic, was once the most developed region of East Asia. That kind of environment makes people deeply influenced by the culture of “old industrial base” and “big factory”, which has created an idea that is almost superstitious and depends on the “system”. The story takes the family conflict between the father Mr.Zuo and his daughter Zuo Mingming as the appearance, with the deeply rooted value conflict hidden. In order to defend their own ideas, the father and daughter fight with each other wisely. This film uses the family affection and experience as the starting point of interference to achieve the value of life-based resistance. From the point of father and daughter, it seems that no one has a problem. Is the pace of the times too fast or people wake up too slowly? What’s the problem?
