Synopsis
A deputy director of the Environmental Protection Bureau and his assistant are trying to change the air quality of the city. How do they continuously improve the air quality of the city when they face pressure?
Han Meng
Han Meng is a Beijing-based filmmaker and photographer who had worked as a photojournalist in China for 12 years. Her recent feature-length film is SMOG TOWN, selected in the 2019 IDFA First Appearance Competition. Her recent works include the mid-length documentary CHINA’S FORGOTTEN DAUGHTERS, screened at Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and Hong Kong Asian Film Festival, and the photo essay CHINESE ADOPTEES AT HOME IN AMERICA, published in the New York Times, and South China Morning Post.
Director's statement
This is an observational-style film, which focuses on one town facing difficulty and dilemmas while dealing with environmental issues.
