Synopsis
Since I have not been in touch with my friends from junior high school, I often imagine what kind of life they led and what kind of experiences they had before they met me, and I want to find my old friend in the form of “writing a biography of him”. But perhaps it is not his memory and mine that have left me with memories of him, but my memories of him that have shaped an imaginary person. The fuller this imaginary image is, the more I miss it, and perhaps the farther it is from the real him. I started by shooting 135mm film documentary animation. It is both a real record of the outside world and a “hand-made” product of my manual processing and shifting. It generates an image quality that deviates from reality, like a memory, like an imagination, and like a dream.
