Present-day Quebec. I feel as though people today are very<\/span><\/span>\u00a0afraid of losing the sense of comfort that my homeland offers.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0This fear presents itself in various ways, and our resistance to<\/span><\/span>\u00a0change is fierce. The rise of populism in the media, the migrant crisis, the reluctance to be open to other people and identitarian<\/span>\u00a0closure are all themes that interest me. Laurence Olivier\u2019s book<\/span>\u00a0is a poetic collection of slices of life and disjointed stories, and<\/span><\/span>\u00a0I tried to keep its spirit. Changes and tears in the social fabric<\/span><\/span>\u00a0are fascinating phenomena, and I designed a story with holes<\/span><\/span>\u00a0in it where the supernatural could creep in, bringing multiple<\/span><\/span>\u00a0anticlimaxes. It\u2019s not a complex script, but I enjoy playing with<\/span><\/span>\u00a0tone; I like when things aren\u2019t easy to define or categorize.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Essentially, I wanted to write a script about the Other and the<\/span>\u00a0fear it inspires.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
