Wei Zhou and his girlfriend Li Yang live in a small rental room. Later, Wei Zhou’s father falls ill, and Wei Zhou has to take care of him in person. The film is set in a tiny room, turning the camera into a trapped observer with no way out. And the camera’s view is, in fact, the eye of the audience. The only place for the audience to escape is the balcony outside. The balcony is also an important space of intimacy and separation between the three protagonists. The geometric frames within the space, such as doors, windows, furniture, and walls, constantly trap people inside. Seemingly they are breaking away from one of them while they are unaware of the others.
