The musician Bayandalai met the old artist Bugasenden during field recording and interviews in the Nilek Oirat area of Xinjiang from 2012 to 2016, and helped her to complete the music album of Mongolian traditional stringed instruments. The album consists of 12 pieces she performed with TOVSHUR. The content of the twelve pieces of music is composed of twelve different stories in life. She perfectly integrated her simple life philosophy into her music art, which had a great impact on Bayandalai’s later music creation concept. He understood that the soil suitable for creating good original music had been completely lost. After that, Bayandalai suspended original music creation and began to use experimental music as the main creative style, following his inner feelings to make his own music. In 2014, I knew musician Bayandalai and his band HorseRadio.
\nIn 2016, Bayandalai asked me to make a short documentary about Tovshur 12 songs, which is Mongolian traditional music that almost disappeared nowadays. Bayandalai left his hometwon (XingJiang Nilka) already more than 10 years , when he came back to his hometown for this project, he was unexpectedly nourished, inspired and empowered by the process of recording the music culture he was the most familiar with. After this project, he began to explore the possibility of a new musical style. The collision and cultural estrangement between the two generations of musicians also made me decide to film a documentary about this, I hope more people could listen about this wonderful music and
